Description

“No two brawlers ever look the same. Sometimes, they look like your average muscle; you think you can take them right up until they start frothing at the mouth and ripping off a table leg to bash your skull in. What’s worse are those damned tweakers; those guys can look scrawny as hell and then bam they shoot up and you’ve got some dude using your head as a goddamn pinnata with nothing but his fists. Look, the point I’m trying to make is this: if you know some dude’s a brawler, you’re better off keeping your distance; those crazy fucks are lethal up close.”

Brawlers are up close combatants that trade tactics for raw power. They feed off of rage, using it to do devastating attacks against a single opponent. They can get their power from several different sources; some use drugs to induce their rage, others channel a deep rooted hatred.

Power Sources

Brawlers can use several sources of power: Hatred, Sadism, and Drugs.

Hatred

Brawlers that channel their hatred prefer fighting with their bare hands; striking without consideration for anything but inflicting the maximum amount of damage agains the target of their hareted.

Sadism

Sadistic brawlers favor melee weapons, as they allow them to inflict maximum pain with precision. They, like all brawlers, still have little concern for themselves.

Drugs

Brawlers that rely on drugs to induce their rage are some of the most chaotic of all Brawlers. They frequenty trade their own health for massive damage.

Class Mechanic

Rage: While ‘raging’, you grant combat advantage. Getting into a rage is done through use of a power; rages are then consumed by other powers. Rages automatically end at the end of an encounter, or unconsciousness.

The Brawler’s class mechanic is all about managing “rage”. Some powers will put you in a rage; several of these will have a recharge so there’s a chance you can use them more than once in an encounter. Regardless, while your character is considered “raging”, you will grant combat advantage to all enemies. You can not drop rage without a power that explicitly says so, or ending the encounter.

The advantage rage gives you comes in the form of other powers. Some will have “Expend Rage” sections; these powers allow you to end your rage to add an additional effect. (Note: You decide to end your rage and apply the effect after determining if the power hit.) Other powers will have the requirement “must currently be in a rage”. These powers do not consume your rage, however you can only use them while in a rage.
